Just over a year ago our local garbage company changed and we were offered curbside recycling. We've got the color coded cans now, like the rest of the state. Brown for leaves and yard waste, black for garbage and blue for recycling.

I want to be a recycler. I really do. But the list of requirements just to toss a tin can in are crazy. All paper must be removed from the outside, and the can should be clean. How much water am I wasting to wash out a dog food can? It's frustrating.

Then, my mom and Seth tell me that they have the Work Training Center people sorting through the recycling crap, so they (the garbage company) can sell it for a tidy sum. I'm betting they don't pay the retarded people very much money to sift through people's shit. I hate that we live in a society where we make our mentally challenged people sort through trash to earn a few bucks. it makes me sick.
